Information for Registered Individuals:
- CLOTHING – Please remember that Chimney Rock National Monument is a natural, unimproved site. Therefore, you should dress you child accordingly. Clothing should be comfortable but appropriate for taking a hike or touring the site. A sturdy shoe or hiking boot is recommended, as well as some kind of head covering to protect from sunburn. We also suggest a smock or old shirt for cover up when doing messy craft projects such as painting. Rain gear or a light jacket may be needed if the weather warrants it.
- FOOD – We suggest that children have breakfast before arriving at the site. Your child should bring their lunch and plenty of water. CRIA will have additional water, snacks and fruit if needed.
- MISCELLANEOUS – As your child will spend time outdoors in the sun, it is suggested that they have sunscreen and also a bug repellent if they are concerned or sensitive to insects.
You will be provided an evaluation form and we would appreciate it if you would help us continue to improve our workshops by completing this form and returning it to one of the instructors at the end of your workshop day or workshop series.
