Chimney Rock Interpretive Association is excited to announce two new special programs at Chimney Rock National Monument in 2017- Ancient Dances at Chimney Rock and The Partial Solar Eclipse!

The Ancient Dances at Chimney Rock will take place on Saturday, May 27th.  One the groups that will be performing at this event is the Acoma Rain   Dancers from the Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico. Dances will take place at approximately 10am and 1pm at Chimney Rock National Monument.

The Partial Solar Eclipse will take place on Monday, August 21st. The tour will include explanations of the eclipse from an astronomer, insights into eclipses historically and through the eyes of native Americans, and the marvelous native American flute playing of Charles Martinez. We will gather at the Great House where the ancient Americans were carefully watching the sun in 1097 when a solar eclipse occurred.
