Special Events volunteering may include Full Moon Programs; Night Sky Programs; Summer Solstice and Fall Equinox Sunrise Programs; Life at Chimney Rock; pre-season open house; man booths at Arts and Crafts Fair, Rummage Sale, and County Fair; pre-season and post-season maintenance days; and monthly potlucks. All kinds of talent or useful interests are needed, such as greeting visitors, crowd control, storytelling, painting, carpentry, etc.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Assist Event Coordinator or Day Manager as needed
- Assist in monitoring visitor use to prevent impact to archaeological resources
- Participate in flashlight brigade for visitor safety at night-time programs
- Work well with the public and co-workers under all circumstances including stressful situations
- Be conscious of individual and group safety
- Assist with training of volunteers
Physical requirements:
- Heat and sunlight tolerance
- Moderate physical exertion
- Adequate hearing and vision
- Accustomed to high elevations - up to 7600 feet

Hours of Operation: In-Season May 15 - September 30, Daily 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Guided Walking Tour Schedule: 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m.
