In 2007, the Chimney Rock Interpretive Association Inc., (CRIA) a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, served over 8,000 visitors, many of whom participated in educational programs interpreting the historical and cultural significance of the Chimney Rock Archaeological Area. Over 100 volunteers support our efforts to interpret and educate the public about the site through tours and special programs.

You are invited to become part of the 18 year tradition of educating the public about this unique Archaeological Area. As a Friend of Chimney Rock, your donation will help in many ways including the following:
  • Free Programs for School Children
  • Archaeoastronomy Programs
  • Interpretive Program Expansion
  • Life at Chimney Rock Interpretive Programs
  • Ongoing Training of Volunteer Tour Guides
Contributions are tax deductible to the extent that is provided by law. And as a Friend of Chimney Rock, you will have the satisfaction of contributing to the preservation and stewardship of Chimney Rock Archaeological Area, a unique Ancestral Puebloan site listed on the National Register of Historical Sites.

CRIA works in partnership with the US Forest Service, San Juan National Forest, and Pagosa Ranger District to operate the Chimney Rock Interpretive Program. Since the program receives no government funding, income is derived from sales of tour tickets and educational materials, program fees, and public support.
