Chimney Rock National Monument Open House
February 22 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Chimney Rock Interpretive Association (CRIA) invites community members to the annual Chimney Rock National Monument Open House at the EcoLuxe Building at The Springs Resort and Spa located at 165 Hot Springs Blvd. from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, February 22.
As CRIA gears up for the 2018 season, priorities shift toward the most important preparations for the season — volunteer recruitment. Since CRIA is primarily staffed by volunteers, it is essential to the program’s success that the volunteer corps remain strong in skills and numbers. Without the volunteers’ skills and valuable time, it would be impossible to keep this local, non-profit, interpretive program viable and the gates to Chimney Rock open.
There will be a host of CRIA volunteers on hand at the Open House who are eager to introduce guests to the variety of roles that support this unique program and the flexibility in level of commitment. Some of the volunteer positions include: Visitor Cabin Host, Mesa Host, Tour Guide and Maintenance Crew.
This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking for an outdoor, cultural volunteer experience. CRIA offers a great, in-depth training and mentoring program in a fun environment to anyone interested in joining our amazing team of volunteers. New volunteers receive extended training with veteran volunteers at the site until they are comfortable in their new positions. Another perk of becoming a volunteer at Chimney Rock National Monument includes outings to other archaeological sites.
For more information about the Monument, calendar of events, and volunteer opportunities, please stop by the Chimney Rock Open House and enjoy desserts with our enthusiastic volunteers. Beverages will be available for purchase at The Phoenix Lounge.
There’s more to learn at Chimney Rock National Monument beyond the daily tours. The interpretive program at Chimney Rock includes opportunities to see the site in a different light and to enjoy the different facets of the site. Ticket fees for special programs are considered a non-refundable donation. Programs often sell out. A booking fee applies to each ticket purchased online or through the call center. Making a reservation through the website or the call center is the only way to guarantee a spot on this tour. Most programs are at full capacity prior to the event but we will accommodate walk-ins if space is available. Booking fees do not apply to walk-ins.
You can book our monthly programs online or by calling 1-877-444-6777.
